The aim of this project was to create a fresh brand identity for the annual Marine Biological Postgraduate Conference, to be held at Newcastle University. Every year the conference is held in a different city and the logo needs to reflect that. So you can see that elements of Newcastle Upon Tyne are present in the logo, such as the simplified Tyne Bridge in the center and the seahorse against a striped background, an homage to the city’s crest and famous football team.

The challenging part of this logo, was fitting all the text neatly into a clear and legible design. This was solved by created a circular badge design and breaking the text into two separate parts.
